In this module you will learn how to import well checkshot data from .txt or .ascii files into Helios.

Instructions and screenshots

Checkshots can be imported from the top menu of the main interface: Project > Import > TD curve

After clicking Load well a dialog opens and the user should choose the .dil file to which the checkshot should be imported. Checkshot data itself should be provided as flat file (e.g. ascii, txt) and can be chosen by clicking the Load TD button.

The file containing the checkshot data to be imported can be previewed and the number of header lines to be skipped when reading the file can be specified.

The user needs to specify the columns of the MD and the TWT including the respective units.

Upon import these values will be converted to SI units. The file containing the check shot data to be loaded must contain a minimum of three time-depth pairs. Times above/below the first/last time-depth pairs but within the log interval will be computed based on the first/last P-velocity present in the logs.

When pressing the Import button the checkshot data will be imported directly to the chosen .dil file.

While at the moment only a single checkshot can be loaded per well, the loaded checkshot data will be listed as User-defined opposed to the Sonic-based time-depth relationship which is based on the actual P-velocity of the well.
